Help Kemi through 10 rounds of treatment for stage 2 breast cancer
Kemi is facing stage 2 breast cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
🇳🇬 Abuja, Abuja FCT, Nigeria588 views
Kemi was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in June. The oncology team at the Abuja Oncology Institute has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in September. She will be away from work for about 5 weeks.
Kemi is 39, worked as a primary school teacher until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Abuja Oncology Institute 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,500 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $980
• Scans and lab work: $85
• Transport to the Abuja Oncology Institute: $150
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $60
• Household costs while unable to work: $225
Thanks for reading all this.

Wishing Kemi a smooth procedure and a full recovery. Thinking of Abuja
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Kemi.
Chemotherapy and medication not covered is $980 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page.
Hope this works out for you. It's not much but it's yours.
wishing Kemi a smooth procedure and a full recovery. Please keep us posted. All the best.
Keep going. Hope this works out for you. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry
Good luck. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Wish I lived closer to León so I could bring a meal
