Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Monday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 17 families, and now we feed 148 each week. Donations have dropped by about 33% this winter, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 13 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Pune market and keep every receipt. Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $200 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $95 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $75 • Baby formula and diapers: $30 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

  • Good luck. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Wish I lived closer to Toledo so I could bring a meal

Hope things get better soon. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Sent it to 3 people at work. Greetings from Ciudad de México
