Help Kato keep the Bread & Beans Kitchen pantry stocked
Kato runs a volunteer pantry feeding 300 families; this fund restocks shelves for the summer.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Wednesday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 22 families, and now we feed 300 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 30% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 19 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Nairobi market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $400 goes:
• Baby formula and diapers: $85
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $180
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $135
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Hope it all works out. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My husband and I read this together. Thinking of Nairobi.
So sorry you're going through this, Kato. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
