Help Kannan replace the rear axle and return to work
Without my taxi Kannan can't work; a $150 repair would put him back on the road.

I make my living with my taxi. 7 weeks ago the rear axle failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $150. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my 1 children. Before the breakdown I worked twelve hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next six months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update.
Where the $150 goes:
• rear axle replacement (parts): $65
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $40
• Labor charges: $45
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Kannan.
It's all in the list in the story. rear axle replacement (parts) is the big one at $65, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. I'll keep the page updated.
Best of luck, Kannan. I hope things turn around soon. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend.
Can I help in a way that isn't money? I'm near Madurai.
Thank you. If you're in Madurai I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Thanks for asking.
You're not alone, Kannan. Hope you get there. Don't be hard on yourself for asking.
you're not alone, Kannan. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Greetings from Mumbai.
Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. After 17 years in logistics I know how hard it's to ask for anything
Thinking of you and your family, Kannan. Shared it with a few friends. My husband and I read this together. Take care

sending good thoughts. Gave what I could, wish it was more. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it.
Shared it with a few friends. Love from Makati.
