Kalyani was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in the right knee in January. The surgeon at Lucknow Community Hospital recommended knee replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for April. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,450, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $1,150 short.
my daughter has been in and out of Lucknow Community Hospital since January. The doctors say osteoarthritis in the right knee will get worse without knee replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,450 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Kalyani struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Kalyani won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
