The electricity and water account is 2 months behind. Jyoti received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on August unless $150 is paid. She had never been late before losing my job in June.
Jyoti called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $10 first, which isn't available.
The household includes a parent on oxygen therapy, and going through winter without electricity and water isn't safe. The children would have no light to study by.
Jyoti is working on getting back on her feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady.
