The electricity and water account is 2 months behind. Joyce received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on May unless $550 is paid. She had never been late before a reduction in hours.
Joyce called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $125 first, which isn't available.
The household includes a disabled brother, and going through the cold months without electricity and water isn't safe. We would also lose the ability to run the medical equipment at home.
Joyce is working on getting back on her feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady.
Every dollar goes to the account in Joyce's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates.
