Joya was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in July. The oncology team at Khulna University Hospital has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 5 weeks. Joya is 25, worked as a primary school teacher until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Khulna University Hospital 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $1,350 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $890 • Scans and lab work: $105 • Transport to Khulna University Hospital: $115 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $85 • Household costs while unable to work: $155 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
