Josiane is facing a rare sarcoma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Josiane was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in September. The oncology team at the Santos Oncology Institute has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in December. She will be away from work for about 12 weeks.
Josiane is 39, worked as a tailor until September, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Santos Oncology Institute 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.

• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $210
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $2,250
