Help keep a free food pantry open for elderly neighbors in Makati.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Thursday from the back of a community center. We started with 26 families, and now we feed 161 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 55% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 10 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Makati market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $550 goes:
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $230
• Refrigeration and electricity: $70
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $250
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

so sorry you're going through this. This could happen to any of us. Please keep us posted. God bless.
So sorry you're going through this, Josefina. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Love from Brampton.
Rooting for you, Josefina. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. All the best.
Good luck, Josefina. It takes guts to ask. Well done. We're a small family in Fresno but we're thinking of you. God bless.
