Help José replace the transmission and return to work
José drives for a living in Reading, and a broken transmission has stopped all income for 6 weeks.
🇺🇸 Reading, Pennsylvania, United States1,901 views
I make my living with my food truck. 6 weeks ago the transmission failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $1,350. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my two daughters and my mother. Before the breakdown I worked nine hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next four months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update.
Where the $1,350 goes:
• transmission replacement (parts): $900
• Labor charges: $240
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $130
• Towing and inspection: $80
Thanks for being kind about this.
- José

rooting for you, José. Hope you make a strong comeback. All the best
Hang in there. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. All the best!
Sending love. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Sent it to 19 people at work. Blessings.
keep going, José. I hope things turn around soon. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend.
