Jordan was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in August. The surgeon at Newcastle University Hospital recommended ACL reconstruction, and He is scheduled for December. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $12,000, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $5,950 short. my son has been in and out of Newcastle University Hospital since August. The doctors say a benign brain tumor will get worse without ACL reconstruction. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $12,000 is more than we can find. While we wait, Jordan struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. The recovery period is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Jordan won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
