Since 2021, our volunteer team has run the Sunday Shelf every Thursday from the back of a community center. We started with 21 families, and now we feed 355 each week. Donations have dropped by about 38% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 17 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the London market and keep every receipt. Each $20 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $1,150 goes: • Baby formula and diapers: $380 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $430 • Refrigeration and electricity: $340 Thank you so much. - John

Updates from John

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($86 in total) I met with the wholesaler and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  2. Quick update: $86 raised so far (7%). I made the first payment toward fresh vegetables and fruit. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
