Help Javier keep the the Second Helping pantry stocked
The the Second Helping pantry in Barcelona is running low just as demand rises; $1,300 will stock it for 11 weeks.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Saturday from the back of the old library basement. We started with 14 families, and now we feed 135 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 39% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 9 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Barcelona market and keep every receipt.
Each $20 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $1,300 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $490
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $400
• Baby formula and diapers: $135
• Refrigeration and electricity: $275
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
