Since 2021, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Tuesday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 30 families, and now we feed 340 each week. Donations have dropped by about 58% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 11 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Kampala market and keep every receipt. Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $500 goes: • Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $270 • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $135 • Baby formula and diapers: $65 • Refrigeration and electricity: $30 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot. - James

  • Stay strong, James. More neighborhoods should do this. Greetings from Sukkur.

Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. We're a small family in Epe but we're thinking of you. Love from Epe.
