Help Jade with wrongful-eviction defense filing and attorney fees
A wrongful-eviction defense deadline is approaching and Jade can't afford the lawyer.
Anywhere in the world941 views
Jade is facing a wrongful-eviction defense. The hearing is scheduled for September, and the filing fees and the lawyer's retainer come to $3,200. Three legal-aid offices have said their waiting lists are longer than the deadline.
Jade has all the paperwork ready, and a caseworker at the San Francisco Community Legal Centre has confirmed that the case is valid.
If the deadline is missed Jade could lose the right to stay with the family and the job. The children were born here and this is the only home they know.
Funds cover only the filing fees, translations and attorney retainer.
Where the $3,200 goes:
• Attorney retainer: $2,200
• Filing and biometrics fees: $830
• Certified translations and document copies: $100
• Court-appointed interpreter and travel: $70
