Jack was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in August. The oncology team at Toronto University Hospital has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in October. He will be away from work for about 4 weeks.
Jack is 46, worked as a shop owner until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Toronto University Hospital 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $9,850 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $5,500
• Scans and lab work: $1,050
• Transport to Toronto University Hospital: $1,150
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $760
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,390
