Johannesburg
Ollie is my three-legged dog of six years. On 2 January we rushed to Johannesburg Veterinary Centre with kidney failure. The vet recommends an operation to remove the blockage, and the estimate came to $500. They have stabilized Ollie, but the treatment can't wait beyond March. Ollie is more than a pet - Ollie is a retired therapy animal who has comforted dozens of patients. I have already put $85 toward the bills and asked for a payment plan. Whatever I can't raise, I'll repay to anyone who needs it back. Funds will be paid straight to Johannesburg Veterinary Centre and I'll share the invoice and an update on Ollie's recovery. Where the $500 goes: • Medication and follow-up visits: $45 • Diagnostics (X-ray, bloodwork): $50 • Emergency surgery: $405 Thanks for reading all this. - Jabu

Updates from Jabu

  1. Small update. $90 so far, I made the first payment toward medication and follow-up visits.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($65 in total) we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  3. Thank you all. We're at 10% now ($50). I'm honestly stunned. we've started the first stage.

  • Wishing you the best, Jabu. Hope the recovery goes smoothly. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Thinking of Johannesburg.
