Itzel was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal in September. The surgeon at Córdoba Regional Medical Center recommended spinal decompression surgery, and She is scheduled for January. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,050, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $850 short.
my wife has been in and out of Córdoba Regional Medical Center since September. The doctors say a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without spinal decompression surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,050 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Itzel struggles with daily life and can't stand for more than ten minutes. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 6 weeks. During that time Itzel won't be able to stand for more than ten minutes, so the costs keep growing.
