Everett, my brother, passed away on 8 April after complications from pneumonia. He was 64 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance. The funeral home has given us a quote of $4,400 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 18 April. I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Everett to have a dignified farewell. Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers. Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to a neighborhood youth program. Where the $4,400 goes: • Funeral home services and casket: $3,100 • Cemetery plot and burial fees: $480 • Transport of the deceased: $480 • Memorial gathering for the family: $340 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
