The electricity account is 4 months behind. Ishrat received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on December unless $100 is paid. She had never been late before an unexpected car repair.
Ishrat called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $20 first, which isn't available.
The household includes a newborn, and going through the cold months without electricity isn't safe. The children would have no light to study by.
Ishrat is working on getting back on her feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady.
