Fatima, my mother, passed away on 22 September after complications from pneumonia. She was 36 years old. She was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance. The funeral home has given us a quote of $500 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 1 October. I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Fatima to have a dignified farewell. Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers. Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to the Lahore hospice. Where the $500 goes: • Funeral home services and casket: $360 • Cemetery plot and burial fees: $85 • Transport of the deceased: $25 • Memorial gathering for the family: $30 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
