Inés was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in January. The oncology team at the Mérida Oncology Institute has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in April. She will be away from work for about 12 weeks. Inés is 53, worked as a shop owner until January, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Mérida Oncology Institute 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
