Idowu was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in the right knee in July. The surgeon at Ikeja Regional Medical Center recommended septoplasty, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,500, and after what the public health scheme will pay we're still $900 short. my wife has been in and out of Ikeja Regional Medical Center since July. The doctors say osteoarthritis in the right knee will get worse without septoplasty. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,500 is more than we can find. While we wait, Idowu struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Idowu won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $900 goes: • Hospital stay (4 nights): $360 • Travel and lodging for the family: $35 • Physiotherapy sessions: $80 • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $420 • Post-operative medication: $5 If you're reading this, thank you.
