Help Ibrahim keep the Open Hands Pantry pantry stocked
Ibrahim runs a volunteer pantry feeding 320 families; this fund restocks shelves for the winter.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Saturday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 10 families, and now we feed 320 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 57% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 10 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Luxor market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $550 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $280
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $185
• Baby formula and diapers: $50
• Refrigeration and electricity: $35
Thank you for reading my story.

Sending good thoughts, Ibrahim. Your post was clear and honest. I hope November is when things finally get easier. Thinking of Luxor.
