Hussein was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in the right knee in June. The surgeon at Saint Matthew Hospital recommended hip replacement surgery, and He is scheduled for August. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $8,250, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $5,750 short.
my son has been in and out of Saint Matthew Hospital since June. The doctors say osteoarthritis in the right knee will get worse without hip replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $8,250 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Hussein struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Rehabilitation is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Hussein won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing.
