Help Heloísa keep the the Second Helping pantry stocked
The the Second Helping pantry in Belém is running low just as demand rises; $950 will stock it for 8 weeks.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Sunday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 19 families, and now we feed 251 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 43% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 17 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Belém market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $950 goes:
• Refrigeration and electricity: $115
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $450
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $385
