Help Hellen keep her home - 4 months behind on rent
After a sudden layoff, Hellen is 4 months behind on rent and has a 10-day notice to quit from the landlord.

Following a long illness in the family, Hellen fell 4 months behind on rent. Last Saturday a 10-day notice to quit was taped to the door, and the amount owed is $500.
The landlord was understanding for a while, but has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by June, the family must leave.
There are a toddler and a baby at home. Moving would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
Hellen has started working evenings as a cleaner, and is applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
The money will be paid directly to the landlord and I'll upload the receipt once it's done.
Where the $500 goes:
• Utilities in arrears: $30
• Rent arrears (4 months): $330
• First month of rent as a buffer: $140
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
