Help Heinz pay for emergency hernia repair at Düsseldorf General Hospital
A scheduled emergency hernia repair in October is out of reach without help covering $3,650 of the cost.

Heinz was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in July. The surgeon at Düsseldorf General Hospital recommended emergency hernia repair, and He is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $6,000, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $3,650 short.
my son has been in and out of Düsseldorf General Hospital since July. The doctors say a benign brain tumor will get worse without emergency hernia repair. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $6,000 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Heinz struggles with daily life and can't drive. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Heinz won't be able to drive, so the costs keep growing.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $3,650 goes:
• Travel and lodging for the family: $380
• Hospital stay (4 nights): $1,400
• Physiotherapy sessions: $260
• Post-operative medication: $230
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $1,380
