Divya, my wife, passed away on 22 July after a sudden heart attack. She was 81 years old. She was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $450 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 2 August.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Divya to have a dignified farewell.
Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers.
Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to a neighborhood youth program.
Where the $450 goes:
• Funeral home services and casket: $300
• Transport of the deceased: $25
• Cemetery plot and burial fees: $125
