Help Håkan get through 5 hard months with twin daughters

Håkan and twin daughters need a bridge to stability after my partner leaving.

Since my partner leaving in March, I'm now raising twin daughters on my own. I work as a retail cashier, but my income doesn't cover rent, childcare and groceries. I'm retraining as a bookkeeper in the evenings, which will triple my income by July, but I need to bridge the gap until then. Some weeks I skip meals so my children can eat. I have never asked anyone for help like this before, and I'm doing it for them. Once I finish my course, I'll pay it forward. Every cent is accounted for. I'll share a simple monthly breakdown. Where the $2,900 goes: • Groceries and school meals: $1,050 • Rent top-up: $1,050 • Childcare and after-school care: $800 Thanks for reading all this. - Håkan

  • Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. I went through something like this 6 years ago and strangers helped me out. Take care.

Thank you. If you're in Uppsala I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Thanks, that means a lot.

      • You're not alone, Håkan. Gave what I could, wish it was more

        • Take care, Håkan. Hope this works out for you. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.

          • Hope it all works out, Håkan. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. All the best.

Thinking of you and your family. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Thinking of Uppsala.
