Haider is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a computer science degree at Gujranwala Community College, and is two terms away from graduating. He has worked as a library assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $400. The registrar has said Haider can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Haider has a distinction average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Haider would lose his place and scholarship eligibility. Haider isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Gujranwala Community College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $400 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $340 • Textbooks and materials: $40 • Exam and lab fees: $20 Thanks for being kind about this.

  • Hang in there, Zain. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did.

    • Hope things get better soon, Zain. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My cousin had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.

      • Wishing you peace. Good luck with the exams, you've got this. Take care.

        • Sending strength. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. After 17 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything.

          • Good luck, Zain. Education changes everything, hope you graduate with honors. I have a 8 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
