Help keep a free food pantry open for families and seniors in Houston.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Bread & Beans Kitchen every Thursday from the back of a community center. We started with 18 families, and now we feed 163 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 57% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 15 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Houston market and keep every receipt.
Each $55 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $3,000 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,500
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $830
• Baby formula and diapers: $330
• Refrigeration and electricity: $340
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
