Help keep a free food pantry open for families and seniors in Busan.

Since 2023, our volunteer team has run the Thursday Table every Friday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 22 families, and now we feed 123 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 34% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 19 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Busan market and keep every receipt.
Each $20 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $1,250 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $440
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $270
• Baby formula and diapers: $380
• Refrigeration and electricity: $160
Every share and every dollar helps.

Best of luck, Ha-eun. More neighborhoods should do this. Sent it to 4 people at work. Blessings
Good luck, Ha-eun. More neighborhoods should do this. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Thinking of Busan.
is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Ha-eun.
Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale) is $440 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. I'll keep the page updated.
Sending good thoughts, Ha-eun. Shared it with a few friends. I hope November is when things finally get easier
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Greetings from Leicester
So sorry you're going through this, Ha-eun. I hope things turn around soon. After 20 years in public service I know how hard it's to ask for anything
Hope things get better soon. Shared this with my family. Thinking of Busan
