San Cristóbal de las Casas
Mateo, my brother, passed away on 10 September after a road accident. He was 36 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance. The funeral home has given us a quote of $1,100 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 22 September. I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Mateo to have a dignified farewell. Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers. The funds will be paid directly to the funeral home, and I'll share the receipt. Where the $1,100 goes: • Funeral home services and casket: $520 • Cemetery plot and burial fees: $330 • Transport of the deceased: $140 • Memorial gathering for the family: $110 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to. - Graciela

  • hope it all works out, Graciela. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Wish I lived closer to Los Angeles so I could bring a meal.
