6 rounds of treatment are planned at the Yokohama Oncology Institute; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.

Yokohama
Goro was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in August. The oncology team at the Yokohama Oncology Institute has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in December. He will be away from work for about 10 weeks. Goro is 50, worked as a bakery worker until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Yokohama Oncology Institute 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $7,800 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $3,350 • Scans and lab work: $1,300 • Transport to the Yokohama Oncology Institute: $780 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $350 • Household costs while unable to work: $2,020 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Updates from Mai

  1. Quick update: $437 raised so far (6%). we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  2. We're at 18% thanks to 49 of you. I made the first payment toward nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team. More news soon.
