The heating account is 2 months behind. Gonzalo received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on November unless $750 is paid. He had never been late before an unexpected car repair. Gonzalo called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $135 first, which isn't available. The household includes an elderly mother, and going through winter without heating isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature.
