Help Giang restart a small grocery stall in Knoxville after a long illness and repossession

Giang has run a small grocery stall for six years; a long illness and repossession destroyed the equipment, and $3,000 will put it back on its feet.

Knoxville
For six years I have run a small grocery stall in Knoxville. In April, a long illness and repossession took a cold-storage unit. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Tuesday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 6 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go. Where the $3,000 goes: • Initial stock: fresh produce: $710 • Replacing a cold-storage unit: $1,700 • Working capital for the first month: $590 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Updates from Giang

  1. Quick update: $762 raised so far (25%). I made the first payment toward working capital for the first month. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($254 in total) I made the first payment toward initial stock: fresh produce. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
