Ghada was diagnosed with a large ovarian cyst in March. The surgeon at Leeds Regional Medical Center recommended gallbladder removal, and She is scheduled for May. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $7,000, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $3,500 short. my mother has been in and out of Leeds Regional Medical Center since March. The doctors say a large ovarian cyst will get worse without gallbladder removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $7,000 is more than we can find. While we wait, Ghada struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. The recovery period is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Ghada won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
