Help keep a free food pantry open for neighbors in need in Lapu-Lapu.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Thursday Table every Thursday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 22 families, and now we feed 150 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 54% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 14 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Lapu-Lapu market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $500 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $320
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $110
• Baby formula and diapers: $60
• Refrigeration and electricity: $10
Glad we found this place.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Gerald.
Sure. The biggest one is rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale), $320. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Happy to explain more.

Is there anything that isn't money that would help Gerald?
Thank you. If you're in Lapu-Lapu I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great.
sending strength. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Wish I lived closer to Quezon City so I could bring a meal. Love from Birmingham.
