Help Georgina keep the Community Pantry pantry stocked
The Community Pantry pantry in Obuasi is running low just as demand rises; $450 will stock it for 6 weeks.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Friday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 17 families, and now we feed 283 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 53% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 8 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Obuasi market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $450 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $260
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $75
• Baby formula and diapers: $55
• Refrigeration and electricity: $60
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
