For six years I have run a fish stall in Reading. In July, a long illness and repossession took a freezer and scales. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Tuesday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 3 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go. Where the $2,650 goes: • Replacing a freezer and scales: $1,350 • Initial stock: the first catch: $480 • Shop repairs and licensing: $300 • Working capital for the first month: $520 Thank you so much. - Gabriel

Updates from Gabriel

  1. Quick update: $496 raised so far (19%). I met with the supplier and confirmed the amounts. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($366 in total) I made the first payment toward replacing a freezer and scales. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
