Help Gabriel keep the Neighbors' Pantry pantry stocked

The Neighbors' Pantry pantry in Rio de Janeiro is running low just as demand rises; $400 will stock it for 10 weeks.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run Neighbors' Pantry every Friday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 13 families, and now we feed 241 each week. Donations have dropped by about 32% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week. We rely on volunteers - 10 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Rio de Janeiro market and keep every receipt. Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week. All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs. Where the $400 goes: • Fresh vegetables and fruit: $170 • Baby formula and diapers: $135 • Refrigeration and electricity: $95 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.
