Help Frank keep the Community Pantry pantry stocked
Help keep a free food pantry open for neighbors in need in El Paso.
🇺🇸 El Paso, Texas, United States1,396 views
Since 2021, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Sunday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 9 families, and now we feed 368 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 49% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 10 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the El Paso market and keep every receipt.
Each $30 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $2,100 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,250
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $550
• Refrigeration and electricity: $300
I hope life is good to you.
