Fon was diagnosed with a deviated septum causing chronic infections in July. The surgeon at Bang Khen General Hospital recommended emergency hernia repair, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $3,400, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $1,700 short. my mother has been in and out of Bang Khen General Hospital since July. The doctors say a deviated septum causing chronic infections will get worse without emergency hernia repair. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $3,400 is more than we can find. While we wait, Fon struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Fon won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
