Help Fikir lay Habtamu to rest with dignity in Addis Ababa
Fikir lost her husband suddenly and the family can't cover funeral and burial costs of $450.
🇪🇹 Addis Ababa, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia1,164 views
Habtamu, my husband, passed away on 13 September after a short illness. He was 45 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $450 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 29 September.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Habtamu to have a dignified farewell.
Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers.
Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to a neighborhood youth program.
Where the $450 goes:
• Funeral home services and casket: $230
• Cemetery plot and burial fees: $155
• Transport of the deceased: $45
• Memorial gathering for the family: $20
With deep gratitude,
Fikir

Rooting for you, Fikir. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Sent it to 39 people at work
keep going. I hope things turn around soon. Thinking of Addis Ababa
Is there anything that isn't money that would help Fikir?
Thank you. If you're in Addis Ababa I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. It helps to be asked.
Wishing you peace, Fikir. Gave what I could, wish it was more!
So sorry you're going through this. I hope things turn around soon. My neighbor in Mangaluru donated after I showed her your page.
Hope you get there. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Take care!
This could happen to any of us. It's not much but it's yours. Thinking of Addis Ababa.
