Help Feng restart a fish stall in Oakland after a storm that collapsed the roof
A fish stall in Oakland needs help replacing a freezer and scales after a storm that collapsed the roof.
Anywhere in the world2,041 views
For three years I have run a fish stall in Oakland. In September, a storm that collapsed the roof took a freezer and scales. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Tuesday, and I employed 2 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 7 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
I'll buy equipment from local suppliers and post photos and receipts as I go.
Where the $3,400 goes:
• Replacing a freezer and scales: $1,900
• Initial stock: the first catch: $840
• Working capital for the first month: $660
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Wishing you peace, Feng. I hope things turn around soon. I hope November is when things finally get easier.
Hope things get better soon, Feng. I hope things turn around soon. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
Stay strong. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.
I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My brother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Greetings from London.
Small businesses are the heart of Oakland. Hope you're open again soon. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
