Help Faruk keep the Open Hands Pantry pantry stocked
Faruk runs a volunteer pantry feeding 230 families; this fund restocks shelves for the school holidays.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Wednesday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 12 families, and now we feed 230 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 60% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 13 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Swansea market and keep every receipt.
Each $40 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $2,750 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,400
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $1,000
• Baby formula and diapers: $240
• Refrigeration and electricity: $110

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Faruk
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale) comes first ($1,400) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. It helps to be asked.
