After a cleft palate needing repair, Ezekiel was cleared for a craniotomy, but the bill is more than we can manage.

Ezekiel was diagnosed with a cleft palate needing repair in July. The surgeon at Coventry General Hospital recommended a craniotomy, and He is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $4,250, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $3,200 short. my son has been in and out of Coventry General Hospital since July. The doctors say a cleft palate needing repair will get worse without a craniotomy. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $4,250 is more than we can find. While we wait, Ezekiel struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. The recovery period is expected to take about 4 weeks. During that time Ezekiel won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section. Where the $3,200 goes: β€’ Post-operative medication: $250 β€’ Travel and lodging for the family: $330 β€’ Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $2,620 Glad we found this place.

Sending good thoughts, Clara. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend.

    • Keep going. This could happen to any of us. I hope September is when things finally get easier.
