Chebet, my sister, passed away on 10 May after a stroke. She was 50 years old. She was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance. The funeral home has given us a quote of $550 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 28 May. I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Chebet to have a dignified farewell. Any help at all means a lot, and so do your prayers. Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to the Dar es Salaam hospice. Where the $550 goes: • Funeral home services and casket: $220 • Cemetery plot and burial fees: $170 • Transport of the deceased: $75 • Memorial gathering for the family: $85 Every share and every dollar helps.
